You choose the route
- On-device: use Apple Intelligence on supported Macs or a local Ollama server. Note content stays on the device for those requests.
- Bring your own key: connect a supported provider. Requests go from the desktop app to that provider, and its terms and billing apply.
- Anasa managed: buy a license or Cloud plan and use credit-metered requests routed through Anasa and the Vercel AI Gateway.
The modes are not identical in availability, privacy, speed, model capability, or cost. Anasa shows the selected provider and keeps AI disabled until you configure it.
What it can do
AI features include chat over selected context, summaries, tag suggestions, task extraction, writing assistance, semantic search, and related-note suggestions. Generated text can be wrong. Review it before relying on it, especially for factual, legal, medical, or financial work.
What is recorded
Local and bring-your-own-key requests do not create Anasa usage records. Managed requests record the license, feature, credits, time, and limited operational metadata, but not the submitted note text. Read AI Privacy for the precise data flow.
