Start with a copy
Anasa is designed to open an existing Markdown folder in place. If that folder matters, test first with a copy and confirm how your current syntax renders. Markdown extensions and frontmatter conventions vary between tools.
What Anasa adds
The app indexes the folder for search, links, tasks, and graph views. The index is rebuildable; the files remain authoritative. Git integration can work with an existing repository rather than replacing it.
What to check before switching
Review any proprietary embeds, plugins, database views, or custom syntax used by the previous app. Plain Markdown transfers cleanly; vendor-specific behavior may not.
Coming from another notes app
Notes that are not Markdown yet can be brought in with the built-in importer, which converts Apple Notes, Bear, Things, Windows Sticky Notes, OneNote, Obsidian, Notion, Google Keep and Evernote content into Markdown notes in your folder and turns links between imported notes into wiki links. Formatting that Markdown cannot represent is simplified, so check a few imported notes before relying on them.
